The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak to transfer his salary for the period of forced inactivity of the Parliament to build a shelter for the elderly, cared by the Orthodox sisterhood of Saint Iulianiya Olshanska.
The Orthodox sisterhood implements projects of social assistance to disabled, children and elderly people since 1997. From 2001 to present, the main sisterhood’s project is maintenance of the building for 24 elderly people that are lonely, left by their own children and without home, or those who cannot live with their families. In view of the necessity to accommodate more elderly people in need of care, it was decided to build a 35-bed shelter.
